The musical duo "La Bionda" was formed by the two brothers Carmelo and Michelangelo La Bionda. After Carmelo's death in November 2022, Michelangelo represents the rich musical heritage of the duo alone.
The two musicians started their music career as composers and songwriters at the beginning of the 1970s. Their big breakthrough came in 1977 when the duo turned to the disco sound. Under the pseudonym D.D.Sound (Disco Delivery Sound), the albums "1-2-3-4... Gimme Some More!" and "Disco Delivery" were released, achieving top 10 rankings in Italy for the first time.
In addition to their successful disco music, the two brothers recorded another album in 1978. As this is not a pure disco album, they release it under their own name "La Bionda" and call it simply "La Bionda". The album reached number 10 in the German charts and number 5 in Italy. The single "One For You, One For Me" spent 24 weeks in the German charts and reached number 2.
From 1980 onwards, the two brothers increasingly withdraw into the studio and compose successful advertising music as studio musicians. Their film scores were even more successful. They wrote their first soundtrack in 1980 for "Super Fuzz" by Sergio Corbucci. It became a huge success. Sergio Corbucci and his brother Bruno then entrusted the duo with the soundtracks for their next films, including the Spencer/Hill productions "Who find a friend finds a treasure", "Cats and Dogs" and "Miami Supercops". The two release some of their film music under the new pseudonym "The Fantastic Oceans".
In 1983 they began a very successful collaboration with Righeira. With "Vamos a la playa", "No tengo dinero" and "L'estate è finendo" they write and produce three international hits with him.
At the 2019 festival in Lommatzsch and the 2021 festival in Templin, the duo thrilled fans when they performed their biggest hits "Movin' Cruisin'", "Super Snooper", "One for you, one for me", "Cats and Dogs" and "Vamos a la playa" live.
